"Zoë has a uniquely electrifying voice that moves easily from soul-jazz to funk-rock to mystical." Steve Morse, Boston Globe

Deep & Funky Rock & Soul

Zoë Knight, Assistant Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music, is a Boston-based singer & music educator.  She has been composing & performing original music for over twenty years.  Her sound is rooted in infectious grooves with lyrics that speak to universal connections, fostering community and uplifting the human spirit.  Now in her second decade as a vocal pedagogue, she is dedicated to empowering humans with the tools they need to fully realize their own creative power.

A classically trained soprano raised on classic rock, her performance career began with leading original hard rock & metal bands in New York City and Boston for ten years before attending Berklee, where she earned her degree in Music Education.

While studying at Berklee, Zoë became immersed in and found a deep love for improvisation and the styles that embrace it: soul, jazz, R&B, gospel, funk, and blues.  Naturally, she began blending these new & old styles with her lifetime of training & experience, and her passion for getting down on the dance floor.

Her uplifting grooves provide a pedestal for Zoë's spectacular voice & inspired lyrics, in addition to masterful instrumental solos & improvisational jams with her band: a varying collective of monster players known as Mythical Beasts.

The roster of monster players includes members of Neighbor, Bearly Dead, Booty Vortex, BT ALC Big Band, KONG!, Krewe de Groove, The A-Beez, Roomful of Blues, Strange Machines, Maceo Parker, Soulive, and many more of Boston's best working bands.  Serving up Zoë's original deep & funky rock & soul with a few choice cuts by the greats, Zoë Knight & Mythical Beasts are a jam band at heart, and their groovy tunes are made to shake your booty to!
